Christ taught the same as the Father. The two hold the same belief, they are of one accord having the same expectations and opinions. They both taught to keep the commandments of the Father. Christ lived his life keeping those commandments. He died perfect! His life was an example of how we should strive to live our lives. If we are to be Christ Like, that is what we should also be doing. He was raised from the dead due to his belief that the Law is just, pure, and liberty, and kept them. This is the example of how to gain eternal life.
Christ did not teach opposite to the Father. Paul did not teach opposite to Christ.
I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Jhn 12:49For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
Jhn 12:50And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
This verse is NOT teaching that the Father and Son are the same person, it is telling us that they, the two of them, have the same belief and expectations.
No different than when a wife and a husband become one flesh. They are supposed to have the same beliefs. This is why scriptures tell us not to be unevenly yoked.
Gen 2:24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Mat 19:5And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mar 10:8And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
When we get involved with an unbeliever they will fight tooth and nail to keep us from growing, learning, and changing for the Lord. As the enemy will always try to take more prisoners.
Christ taught us the same as the Father did. That we are to keep all of the commandments written in the Old Testament. Yes there are a couple of them that have been ratified and no longer to be kept, but the ENTIRE law was NOT done away with. Christ preached on these in Matthew 5, he speaks on them in Matthew 22 when asked what is the greatest of all the commandments.
Mat 22:39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Above Christ tells us that every Law given can be placed in 2 catagories. Loving the Father, and loving your neighbor.
Below Paul tells us that to love our neighbor is to keep the commandments of the Father.
Rom 13:8Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Rom 13:9For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
So, if we keep the commandments that pertain to Father the same way we keep the ones that pertain to others, What does that mean for us?
That means that we should observe the Holy Days, the 7th day weekly Sabbath, and the Annual Sabbath Days. This means we should keep ALL the laws that pertain to the Father. This would fulfil the First and greatest commandment, To Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, and soul. This also means the Law is not dead!
Christ tells us that the Law is going no where, that it is in force until Heaven and Earth pass. We still live in a world full of SIN. There is no reason to throw away the laws.
Mat 5:17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (means established, not abolished) The Law will be present and active in enternity, it must first be accepted and recongnized in this life.
The Law was created to lay out what is acceptable and not acceptable to the Lord directed at those who were not pleasing His will. This will be the same lifestyle lived throughtout all eternity for those who gain eternal life. So why would we not have to be practicing it NOW?
When those who chose to keep the law are risen to eternity they will already be in practice of keeping it, therefore the negitive portions of the law no longer pertain to them, as there will be no more sin. We will already be honoring each other and the Lord as prescribed in scriptures. This is why the "Law" will pass away, because we are already being obeident.
If you follow all the rules do you have police coming to your door to correct you? Absolutely not!
This is what scripture means when it says we are no longer under the Law or not bound to it.
It also means that actions alone without belief do not bare any recognition or gain salvation.
If you read both testaments you'd find that even in the Old there had to be belief and action to gain favor and salvation. That part has not changed. Some laws are no longer needed like Sacrifices, oblations, Levitical Priesthood, and Corporal Punishment. We must have faith in Christ, the Faith OF Christ, and keep the commandments to gain eternal life.
Rom 3:22Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Gal 2:16Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Gal 3:22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Rev 14:12Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Some believe that there are 2 sets of people that will be given eternal life, some that keep the law and others that don't. Others believe that both sets of people are now called Christian and neither set has to keep the laws.
It's hard to retrain yourself, to accept that what you think you know is not correct.
It's hard to let go of years of belief and move to the opposite of what you thought you knew.
I know, I went through it myself! I am a firm believer in always wanting the TRUTH, and if that means that my family taught me wrong, my church taught me wrong, my friends, and anyone else is wrong, so be it. It doesn't mean that their teachings were given in malice or intentional, but doesn't make them accurate or correct either. They were lied to also! They didn't know any better.
It is easier to convince someone of a lie, than to convinence someone they've been lied to already.
I believe what the Bible says, and no one else!
I currently stand alone in the revelation of the Word of God. No one I physically know has come to this understanding and truth, that I am aware of. I have one online friend that is of the same belief.
Old and New Testament scriptures tells us to keep the commandments, that there is only ONE FAITH, and that strangers must follow the same law as the natives. Jews and Gentiles.
But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
Eph 4:6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
If the law was going to be abolished, destroyed, done away with, removed it would have been prophesied about in the old testament as scriptures says the Lord will do NOTHING unless he first tells his prophets.
Scripture tells us that faith without works is dead. We have to have BOTH. We are no longer justified by sacrificing animals, we are justified by the sacrifice of Christ. This is what Romans is saying.
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Paul would not speak against the Father or Jesus, He would not tell us to do the opposite of what they taught! This would make him an antichrist.
Please take this correction to heart, to prayer, and let the Lord reveal the truth to you!
IF you don't you will be the one standing there on the last day screaming didn't I do what you wanted and the Christ will look at you and say Depart from me, for I never knew you!
The first scriptures in this article tells us how we can know that we know him, by keeping the commandments of the Father.
