Why do we keep the Holi days that we currently do?
Primarily because that is what we were taught to do, and none of us thought to question it any further.
Some of us read our Bibles but do not put stock in some of the things we read, or do not realize it is pointing out things that we do that we shouldn't be or vice versa. OR we just justify why we don't keep that part of the insturction.
For example Jeremiah 10 for example, it says we should not behave and worship like the world (the heathans) by cutting a tree, standing it in the home and decorating it with silver and gold.
OR Swine/Pigs are considered to the Lord an Abomination an Unclean animal NOT to be consumed, but yet so many of us justify eating swine by saying the folks in that day an age did not now how to properly perserve food and no refridgeration. We also justify Christmas by saying we do for the Lord, even though he has clearing instructed us NOT to.
Heb 13:8 Says that Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. OR Malachi Mal 3:6 That says I am the Lord I change NOT...
The Lord doesn't honor birthdays, and has not requested that we do either. We picked that up from the pagans, the heathans, the world.
Also Christ wasn't even born in December, it was most likely September, but that isn't even certain because Scriptues do not gives dates of his arrival. Most of us know this information and still justify participating in the celebrations of it. Convincing ourselves the Lord is ok with this.
We are to be a set apart people. Meaning we should do not do as the world. The path is straight and narrow, many will be called and few will enter.
There will be so many yelling on the last day Lord Lord and he will answer I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Those folks will either feel heartbroken or angry they spent all that time thinking their way would be accepted.
To Avoid this scenario keep the scriptires, keep the commandments. ALL of them.
By his word: Keep the commandments is how we know that we know him; Read 1 John 2
1Jo 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
