Tithe-Does your Minister you ask for it? Is it expected?

Updated: Oct 3, 2023

Have you ever thought about Tithe?

Where it came from, what it's for, or why we still participate in this Levetical Preisthood commandment?

We are told as protestants that we are not required to keep any of the old testament laws. (which is not true), but that being said WHY are they using old testament law to make us feel guilty into giving money to their institutions??
Because they are using the Bible to gain funds! They are manipulating scriptures to suite their desires, not following what the Father and Christ would have us do.

They say you don't have to keep the Sabbath day Holy, you do not have to eat clean, BUT you do have to pay us money. Why? because the Bible said to give 10% of your goods to the "Church", since we no longer have a need for goods we want your money. They pick and choose which laws they want to keep and how they want to keep them, which steams from the influence of Satan.

I was taught in church that tithe was a contribution from 11 tribes of Isreal to the 12th tribe called the Levites who were the Priests and did not have their own land, crops, or livestock and therefore needed the donations from the other tribes so that they can continue to do their work as commanded by the Lord.
No one explained to me that tithe was goods from the crops and livestock. I was always told it was 10% of your income before taxes.

What were you taught?

Most people have not ever done the Biblical research on Tithe. We blindly take the word of the Pastor, Minister, or Preacher. Below is an article with all the scriptures about tithing if you would like to learn what the Bible says.

How many church institutions have a man stand in the pulpit each week giving a guilt ridden message on how the congregation should pay 10% of their gross income (pretaxed) to support that location?
How many people feel the pressure and guilt to comply?

I confronted a pastor about this issue. He recognized and admitted that in the past yes tithe was goods, but "we" (man) changed it to money so that we could accomplish the commission to spread the word to all nations. He said "How can we complete the task without the money?"
As if that is the only option to complete the mission. It costs nothing to tell someone the TRUTH.

With this confession of changing the word and Will of God why would anyone continue to follow this man's teachings? This man is someone who knowingly uses scripture out of context for the goal to receive payment from a trusting congregation.
IF he is aware of this deception, how many others are being passed around that he is also knowledgeable of?

How many other leaders are in the same boat?
How many church leaders truly seek and find the truth in the word of God?

I am untrusting of all men, especially if he teaches contrary to scriptures.

God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

The Lord never asked us to raise non profit organizations, never asked us to generate separate denominations, never told us to run his mission like a business, and never said to pick and chose which commandmands to keep that we feel we should.

The Lord simply asked us to live and share the word, the truth. This request does not require money to do it. At least to date there is no fee charged for speaking to another person.

Once someone has heard the truth, they can decide whether or not to believe and follow it and seek out more truth or not. They can chose if they want to seek out like minded people, seek out a congregation. They can appear at a locaiton to hear more or pick up materials, make a request for links to sites or materials, they can pay for said materials to be mailed, if necessary. Then the cycle begins again. This person will share what he has learned with another, give info where to find the like minded and so on.

Most old testament laws should be kept, however, Christ fulfilled, ratified, and eliminated some of them.
The Levetical Priesthood was included in the ratification. When Christ was baptized and upon death.

When Christ was baptized he became our High Priest. When Christ died on the cross the curtain to the Most High place in the temple was torn. These two events dismantled the Levetical Preisthood and their accompanying commandments which includes tithing.
Therefore, we are no longer obligated to give a tithe of any sort to a sect of people.

Christ said that he is the only way to the Father. This also says his existance replaces the Levetical Preisthood.

Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Did you know that:

The entry gate to the tabernacle was called the WAY
The first curtain into the Holy Place was called the TRUTH/DOOR
The second curtain in the Most Holy Place was called the LIFE

It's is not sinful to donate 10% of your income, but keeping false doctrine is because it goes against the Word of God. It is your choice to give what you like in the amount you like, but if your institution is using scriptures to influence, govern, and shame people into giving I would discuss it with them. If they persist I would find a leader willing to have productive conversations over scriptures, and willing to admit when they are wrong.

Scriptures that reveal that Christ was made High Priest and when the Priesthood was fully dismantled when the curtain was torn.

Mat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Mat 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

2Pe 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

2Pe 1:17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Luk 23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

Luk 23:45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
