magnesium deficiency can cause migraines
I suffered from severe migraines starting at age 13.
I would have at least 1 per month, but more often 3 or 4.
It would start with loss of peripheral vision, then would see a black spot in the center of my view, and then see prismatic lines running across my view, then pain in the base of my neck, and it would grow up and over my head into my eyes.
I would be disorented, loss of words, and no clear thought.
The pain would grow from the base of my neck to the forehead and across my eyes.
I would loose feeling in my right side, sometime my left as if I were cut in half. Pins and needles was the sensation.
Half my tounge would be numb, just to give some persecptive.
It would cause senitivity to light, sound, and make me nauseous, and often throw up.
Afterwards, the next day, I would have pain when I would bend over. in the top of my head down to my eyes. It was like a rush of dull pain for a few seconds to a minutes. I would have lost words.
Dr's perscribed meds, but that didn't work for long. Kept changing the meds as I would grow immune to the one I was currently on; even though they say you develop immunity to the drugs.
The last medication I took was called treximet. This drug would open the blood vessels in the brain.
One day I decided I wasn't going to take anymore prescribtion medications.
Once I was off of the meds the serverity reduced almost immediately. The frequency also reduced.
My mirgranes were caused by stress or smells. I reduced the stress in my life and aviod places that have a lot of scents.
Since then I take cayenne pepper capsules daily, I eat healthier, and no longer have migraines.
I, on occasion, do still have the prismatic lines in my vision, but that is very seldom.
